Crafsman Renews 'Official Tools of Nascar' Sponsorship
Supporting Partnership Announcements Planned for Speedweeks 2009
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – January 8, 2009 – Craftsman tools today announced the renewal of the “Official Tools of NASCAR” sponsorship through 2013. Building on a 14-year relationship with NASCAR, Craftsman continues to view the sport as a perfect fit for America’s most trusted tool brand.
“There is one thing that has become evident through our long and successful association with NASCAR,” said Mike Cassar, Craftsman brand manager. “That is the loyalty the fans show to their NASCAR drivers, teams and sponsors. This is the same loyalty we see in our customers, who make Craftsman their choice in tools. So naturally we want to take our NASCAR affiliation to great new heights. The NASCAR teams show confidence in our tools and that’s not lost on our customers,” Cassar added.
With the renewal of the “official tools” status, Craftsman will return as presenting sponsor of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pit Crew Challenge, which is held at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C. during the All-Star Week in May.
Taking a broader approach to the NASCAR sponsorship in 2009, Craftsman will introduce a season-ending award for crew members, and plans to announce a defining partnership before the season kicks off in Daytona.
“As we embark on the next phase of our involvement in NASCAR, it’s important for us to focus on initiatives that embody the spirit of the Craftsman brand,” Cassar explained. “It’s going to be an exciting time for us and we look forward to sharing the details as we unveil our NASCAR program leading up to Daytona.
