Finance Internship Program
If you’re considering a career in finance, then the Sears Holdings Internship Program may be the smartest choice you can make. You’ll get
hands-on experience right where the action is -- learning financial planning and analysis, as well as gaining insight into the retail industry.
This 12-week assignment is designed to give you a feel for the finance and the culture of Sears Holdings.

Where You’ll Train
Our corporate headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Illinois
What You’ll Do First
Our interns spend their time working in our corporate office, seeing first-hand what goes into a successful finance organization. Your 12-week internship will focus on the following areas.
You will be assigned a specific high priority project that drives value for Sears Holdings.
Most projects will require:
• interacting with multiple functions of organization
• preparing detailed business case analytics (including preparing sensitivity analysis)
• developing an action plan to deliver results
• proposing recommendations to senior management (may include CFO)
You will receive multiple forms of training. Examples may include:
• systems/ modeling training
• multiple field visits to operations (i.e. stores, distribution center, call center)
• participation in business meetings (month end review, capital requests, business development)
You will gain exposure to senior executives at Sears Holdings. Examples may include:
• 1x1 meetings with the senior finance team
• intern lunch with CFO
• presentation from chairman and/or the SHC executives
Your internship will include formal and informal evaluations, which will allow you to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom in a business setting.
What You’ll Do Later
Upon successful completion of your internship, you may receive an offer to join our Finance team.
